Media Homework

For some media homework I've looked at the famous shower scene from psycho 

And I will be looking at 3 connotations in this scene;

1. The plughole - shortly after the woman is murdered and left in the bath we see the bloody water going down the plug hole, this can signify the life of the woman being drained as she has been brutally stabbed and left to die
   
2. The music - the builds up before the murder, the high pitch before the woman being stabbed builds up tension as the woman has no clue what's about to happen but the audience can see. Also after the murder the music is lower pitch, this helps the drama of the murder set in.
   
3. The knife - the connotation of the knife is death as this is the murder weapon in the scene. We would normally associate a knife with cooking.
